Love. What is love? We use the word all the time. I love cake. I love my husband. I love animals. I love the beach. I love my bunny Blue. Love can be about cake or love can be about a hoomin, animal, or place. It can be very specific and it can feel very personal. What if we thought about love more broadly though? What if we thought of love as the energy that connects all of us together? That’s what love is to me and when love is big and bold and bigger than all of us, it’s easy to love everyone.
Instabun Love
That’s what the Instagram bunny community is to me – love. Pure and simple. It’s people united by a love of bunnies but it’s so much more than that. It’s hoomins supporting and relating to one another. It’s sharing grief, joy, ups, downs. It’s laughing together at crazy antics of our furry loved ones and it’s crying at the loss of one of our beloved buns. It’s worrying about a bunny and their hoomin who you have never met, and may never meet, but you care about them as if you’ve known them forever.
Let’s Spread Some Love
So can we spread some of that love? Can we look at everyone we meet, everyone we interact with on social media, every stranger on the bus through the lens of love? Can we remember that we all have hurt, grief, and pain we’re carrying around? Can we remember that a simple smile can make someone’s day? Can we sit across from someone on the train or even the entire car and close our eyes and picture a golden love coming out of heart and covering everyone in that love? Love is so powerful. Share it. Spread it. Don’t make it complicated. Just feel that feeling when you look at your bunny and spread it wide and far. Now you tell me, how are you going to share some love? ❤️❤️❤️
